Waffle cone, take two! This one actually LOOKS like a waffle cone. Go me.
Really, my mint ice cream looks so much more appetizing in person. Well, maybe not. But the cone is awesome! It’s one step at a time. What did I do differently this week? Well, I intially thought that I could do like a one minute bake of the flat cone–kind of like they do to make real ones–in order to get the texture to hold. That didn’t work very well. Twice. My third attempt had me taking the still flat cone and putting it on the glass top of one of my shelving units. The glass chilled the clay to where it wasn’t wholly squishy and that is what let me wrap it into the cone shape without destroying the texture. A little ruffling of the edges and it was done. Next week I might give a go at the ice cream again. Soft serve isn’t working for me. I do soooo much better with scoops.
I also had fun with some new minature dishes I bought! Up first is my lovely pumpkin latte.
Okay, now I wish it was fall and the Pumpkin Spice Latte was at Starbucks. Let’s have some donuts while we wait through summer.
Mmmm. Chocolate donuts. And probably strawberry. I think. What flavor are pink frosted donuts anyway? I normally go right for the chocolate, so I wouldn’t know. I’m thinking I’ll revisit some soups or cereals next week since I have a few bowls. The fun part will be making the spoons. *yikes* In closing, I leave you with some of the beautiful pieces by FairChildArt on deviantArt.
