The month of May has been, so far, an epic adventure. It will continue being insane as I seem determined to DO ALL THE THINGS. Finals for a full semester, multiple Disney shoots, two miniature faires, a book release, AND a major shoot at the end that will be thus far the biggest/most craziest thing I’ve ever done. *ACK!*
One thing at a time, though! You’re here for the Disney photos! (It’s that or the witty commentary, but I’m assuming it’s the photos.) This time around, I’ve got photos from three shoots to share. First up are the Frozen shoots I did. I am not going to lie: I am a HUGE Frozen fangirl. It was the movie that made me twelve again and brought back my wonder for Disney. The dolls sit on my desk, and I frequently and possibly incessantly listen to the soundtrack. I could probably break into random song and remember every lyric. (But I will refrain from doing so.)
That said, it’s easy to understand why I loved doing these two shoots. For one, I was paired up with the amazing Kaley Saari who loves Frozen so much that she’s going to start offering services to portray Elsa at birthday parties. I might make her come to mine. Just sayin’. The second one, the cuteness hit a whole new level as I paired with three little girls, sisters, who made the perfect Elsa, Ana, and Olaf. Megan, Veronica, and Rachel are some of my favorite kidlets, though, and this shoot was my birthday gift to Megan. I think I got the gift instead!
Next up, we’re heading from Scandanavia down to the Grecian landscape to visit an exceptionally sassy Megaera from Hercules! I’m a Greek Mythology junkie to begin with, and I loved Hercules despite its, hmm, liberties with the original myths. (Can you blame them, though? The whole ‘Zeus knocking up all the girls in Greece and Hera trying to kill Hercules’ thing would have not exactly been kid friendly.) My subject for this shoot was the incomparable Lily Stribling who shows up in so many of my photos that not only does she have her own folder on my Facebook page, but I think she accounts for at least 1/3 of my hard drive. CAN YOU BLAME ME?! Look at this talented munchkin!
There are a dozen more Disney shoots in my future, but maybe not this month! I have a bunch of faeries to wrangle and costumes to finish. The next photos you see from me will be from my recently complete shoot for THE SHAUGHNESSY FILE. A sultry dance in a magical club was recreated just for film. and you’ll fall in love all over again.
Speaking of THE SHAUGHNESSY FILE, I have a book signing on June 13 at Beers Books in Sacramento from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The debut of THE CARMICHAEL FILE’s cover will be there, so if you’re in the area, stop by!
