So, today, I have something new to share. Over a decade ago, I got into this huge thing where I started making music videos for my favorite video games and animes and TV shows. I kept making them for several years, and my last one was in 2008 or so. (I’ve considered making some since, but Windows Movie Maker has changed too much for me, and I have no time to learn Adobe After Effects–yet.) Those videos mostly sat gathering dust on my hard drive, seen only by a few close friends, and I finally thought . . . why not share them? Just for the fun of it. So, that’s what I’ll be doing over the next few months. Slowly getting the videos onto my YouTube Channel so that hopefully more people will enjoy them.
Hey, I’m in the final semester of my Bachelor’s degree. I need SOME sort of distraction.
I’m kicking things off with the videos with not my first ever video, but probably one of my favorites. It’s never been a secret that I am not just a huge video game fanatic, but I’m specifically a Final Fantasy girl. They’ve owned my soul for decades now, damn them. Keep forcing me to buy new consoles for new games! (And each time, it costs more. Damn technology inflation. Stinks more than a Malboro’s Bad Breath.)
ANYWAY. This first video is Final Fantasy VIII specific, as it still holds a place in my heart as my all-time favorite. Pretty much from the moment I heard Avril Lavigne’s Keep Holding On, I had Squall and Rinoa in my head. The video effectively made itself after that. FFVIII haters can leave now if they like; come back soon, though, as I have videos for plenty of other games as well. :p
Without further ado, I present the video! I know, the quality sucks a bit. Hazards of what I had to work with back then. Most future videos have better quality.
Next time, I’ll share what is not only my mother’s favorite video, but also actually won me an AMV award back in the day. Still proud about that, actually.
